Self Care Around The World

This past week, I scrolled thru some recent favorite photos on Instagram. They all had one thing in common –– they all captured moments of self-care. For me, self-care is defined as anything that we do that nurtures our mind and body.

Here are some of my favorites:
  • In Austin TX, @eatcurcuma posted a photo of one of their self-care Ayurveda workshops for women in peaceful intimate settings (inside a tent!).

  • Sarah in Italy shared a beautiful photo of her trip to "one of the most beautiful gardens in the whole world" (Trautmannsdorf).

  • In Michigan, a group gathers on Sundays to practice the art of unplugging.

  • Mirna visited Ljubljana, Slovenia and spent quality time with her IG friend (ice cream was involved!)

  • Courtney, a life coach in Canada issued a self-care travel challenge last month that I absolutely love –– I'm doing this one ASAP.

  • Sara Godinez in California talked about taking time out for self-care and went for a run with her fur baby, Django.

  • Michelle in Australia shares nourishing self-care recipes with her followers -- yesterday it was all about Berry Bliss Ricotta Hotcakes.

  • And finally, even the little things like enjoying a delicious drink like this one in Oaxaca, Mexico counts as self-care.

As most of you know, my favorite form of self-care is getting into the kitchen. Cooking and baking help me de-stress and give me a creative outlet that has nothing to do with the business. Last week, I opted out of work for a couple of evenings and made two cakes. I revived a long lost passion and it felt so good to bake again.

What types of self-care activities do you schedule into your week? Do you wait until the weekend or vacation time for self-care? I hope the examples above give you the inspiration to incorporate more moments of self-care into your day. When we take better care of ourselves, we are better able to take care of others.

On this Memorial Day holiday weekend, we pause to honor all the women & men that gave their lives for our country. To all the loved ones of those lost protecting our country -- we will never forget their ultimate sacrifice.

Wishing you a safe rest of your weekend. Thank you for being here!
