Falling Into October with Rachel's Plan Bee

How to bring fall into your October no matter what the temperature is outside.

October brings cooler air and sometimes dry skin. The arrival of fall also makes us crave warm drinks, pumpkin everything, and spicy aromas. Here are some little things that will help you welcome the change of season into your home and skin care routine.

  • Apple Cinnamon Lip Scrub -This is an easy weekly routine to incorporate into your life. The payoff is soft, smooth lips! Plus, the leftover lip scrub is really yummy on a piece of toast. Ingredients: 1 tsp cold applesauce, 1 tsp coconut oil, 3 tsp brown sugar, dash ground cinnamon. Mix all ingredients well. Immediately apply a small amount of the mixture to your lips and gently scrub. Lick off any remaining residue. Follow up with a moisturizing lip balm.
  • Autumn Spice Air Freshener - The scent of a simmering pot of spices in your home is wonderful for this time of year. Ingredients: a handful of cinnamon sticks, 1 TBL of ground or whole cloves, 1 TBL ground nutmeg, a handful of dried orange peel. Put all ingredients in a medium stock pot and add enough water to cover spices/peel. Bring water to a simmer, adding more water as necessary to keep ingredients covered. Sit back and enjoy the natural scent of autumn. Never leave simmering pot unattended.
  • Soothing Pumpkin Face Mask - This mixture of pumpkin (packed with serious moisture & natural enzymes) and honey will soothe your dry skin and make you crave pumpkin pie. Ingredients: 4 tsp plain pumpkin puree, 2 tsp raw honey, 1/4 tsp oil of your choice, optional add-in: 1 tsp clay of choice. Mix all ingredients well. Apply a thin layer of mixture to your entire just-cleansed face. Avoid eye area. Sit back and allow the mask to feed your skin for approximately 10 min. Rinse with warm water. Enjoy your soft, hydrated skin.
